When you think of navigation apps, usually there’s Apple Maps, Google Maps, and now Waze. As it seems each served their own purposes. According to PC Mag, while apple and google shine in their UI, and algorithmically curated suggestion respectively, Waze shines as the best for daily commute, due to it’s driver focused features.

It is clear that WAZE has cornered the market in day to day commuting. With an established fanbase, WAZE is at a juncture where they wanted to acquire newcomers by showing awareness for consumers who might not think to pick up the app. Visually however, it must coexist within the branding system.
The solution had to demonstrate an awareness in functionality, as well as a high level understanding of the customer base and what they need.

Throwith live accident reporting, user “mood” customization” and a shiny new rebrand from Pentagram Design, there was an Opportunity.
by injecting some useful features, for people who may have lost their pets, Waze can bring even more value.
By making use of Pentagram’s branding guidelines, it bridges a crucial gap of a visual language. It is tried and tested and allowed me to elaborate on it by focusing on the personalization.

This is done by using the “moods” and elevating it by allowing for the addition of ones pets that can be by your side. These pets can be just as unique as the moods themselves, furthering allowing users to express themselves. Throw in the additional functionalities of pet tracking and crowd sourced alerts for pets seen on the road and it created a robust experience that users can enjoy.

there stood an opportunity, to bring in more users & pet lovers By leveraging existing software infrastructure. by injecting some useful features, for people who may have lost their pets, Waze can bring even more value.
